2001 Pontiac Montana - strange noise from front end

There is a strange rubbing sort of noise coming from the front end. I hear it when I take my foot off the accelerator and/or when I turn the steering wheel to the left. To me it sounds like it’s coming from the passenger side of the front end, but I could be wrong. Any ideas? The most recent work done to the vehicle was the brakes, about a month or two ago.

I’m going to try to describe the noise. Say this aloud, in a deep voice.

nyung nyung nyung nyung

There are too many possibilities. It could be engine related, such as a belt, belt pulley, or tensioner problem; steering related, such as a noisy power steering pump; suspension related such as a bad wheel bearing or ball joint; tire related, such as uneven wear or even just the tire rubbing on a loose fender shield…

So I think you just have to get someone to drive it so that they know where to start looking.
