2001 Olds Alero

Hello - 2001 Olds Alero, 127k miles, seems to slightly overheat in warmer weather (ohio)when at a stop - the needle moves above the middle line; once car is moving again, the needle goes back to the center; any ideas?

Yes, I have an idea that the radiator cooling fan isn’t coming on and/or, the radiator coolant level is low.
If the coolant level is low, the coolant has leaked out, and the cooling system will need repair.

Thanks very much! The coolant level is good; will have the fan checked.

Check the radiator cooling fan(s). If they’re not working the engine will heat up at stop lights, etc.

Perfect - thanks. I will check on this promptly.

A pressure test would also be in order, it could be as simple as a bad radiator cap.

Great suggestion - thanks!
