smoking drivers floorboard ,sounds like hole in exhaust
Catalytic Converter can glogg up and get hot enough to catch the carpet/vehicle on fire…
Of course a little more detail about the smoking drivers floor boars would help… Could just have a hole in the exhaust and a rusted out floorboard letting the exhaust come in through the floor…
Or someone stole your catalytic convertor
