bought a 2000 passat wagon lost the keys call locksmith Locksmith said there was not a ignition chip in the the ignition key or the ignition. Car wont start engine cuts out the firstr time you start it after that it doesnt even sound like it will start vbut the starter turning it over. I cant believe that its not the dey because it worked fine before I lost the key. The little light that blinks when you have the wrong key never came on
Time for a trip to the dealer and see what they say!
I believe it’s correct that the 2000 and earlier didn’t have an immobilizer .
