I have this 2000 Nissan xterra and every time I start the engine. It seems to stutter and will not move.I put the car in neutral and wait five minutes and the engine seems fine and ok to go.The dealers gave up on me.I have spent over 1000.00 dollars on tune up. please help.
Take it to a good independent mechanic and provide him with a clear explanation of the symptoms, and I’ll bet you’ll get it fixed.
Try starting it for the first time each day with the transmission in Neutral, and see if that makes a difference. If it does, that would seem to indicate that you need to replace the Neutral Safety Switch.
