To be fair to your mechanic: there is probably a failure mode of the clutch plate or pressure plate that could cause this dragging of the clutch. But, given your prior repairs, bleeding thoroughly is probably all that is needed. And, if the symptoms slowly return, it would indicate that air would be getting into the system, even if parts are new.
