I went to start my 1999 Saturn SL1, and the SL1 made a low ticking noise, and wouldn’t start.
We jump-started the car, and my Saturn ignited, and idled. The car idled for a while, then shut off.
I’d greatly appreciate any help you can provide.
Bad charging system. do you have a voltmeter to check it out?
to see if the voltage is dropping too low to support the current demands of the fuel/spark system try leaving the headlights on when this happens. if they dim to nothing while the car is running, you may not be making electricity.
leaving the car that ‘jumped you’ connected to see if the saturn shuts off would also be a good indicator
