We have a 1999 Lexus ES300 with 200,000 miles and runs great. We have changed the rear shocks a few years ago, but now when we encounter a big enough dip in the road the front end bottoms out. Replacing the front struts I think would solve the problem, but our mechanic didn’t seem to be confident of that and to do the replacement isn’t cheap. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts on us replacing the struts?
What else does this mechanic think is holding the front of the vehicle up and keeping it under control ?
You need a second opinion .
Replace the struts.
Thanks guys, that’s my thinking. Anyone know about how much that should cost?
No, because we don’t know what brand of struts will be used or what the shop hourly rate is where ever you are.
