We’ve had thermometer issues with our Explorer that we (may have) solved with the 3rd new thermometer in a year. Now the radiator hoses thump when the truck is stopped. The thumping stops after about 15 seconds. Remedies?
See above: THERMOSTAT, not thermometer. Geez o pete.
I would think that the “thumping” is due to trapped air in the cooling system, or to steam, or due to exhaust gases from a bad head gasket. If it’s just trapped air, it should work its way out in a few days, or you can bleed the system.
Thanks for the speedy reply. This problem has been going on for a couple of months. Maybe I should just ask someone to bleed the system now?
