1995 Volvo 850 - Vac leak

Maf lean & Rough idle & poor acceleration…

I have a vacuum leak leaking into my intake manifold… somewhere. I believe

Not enough air with fuel mix…
Or too much air with fuel mix.

My car 95’ turbo has EGR & PCT *ALSO HAS PCV & BREATHER BOX…

During stop & go traffic… when I come to a stop, my car feels shuddering, rpms descend below 900k rpms & seems like it is going to die as rpms drop… i have to step on the break & gas to keep it at proper idle or i get lean mix
*if I shift to neutral as I come to a stop the rpms stay more equalized…
My turbo spools great *I accelerate & the car shifts smoothly but once I release fuel pressure and try to accelerate again i get loss of acceleration…

If coming to a stop after a long down hill descent & coming to a stop with no acceleration used … the vacuum pressure feels good…
Once stopped the car feels good *only after descending without use of acceleration…
If I stay stopped the car begins to run lean … - feels like vacuum leak or fuel pressure problems…

When sitting in neutral in an empty parking lot- the idle is great …

My transmission works great. Pulls great up hills. Until recently I have been having to almost floor it to get up hills. The pressure seems to drop soon as i lift my foot off the acceleration pedal…
But seems good when in vacuum & coming to a stop…

I did a smoke test nothing leaking…
Seems to only happen when driving-
Probably not safe but - I’d like to put my front bumper on a tree or wall & accelerate with parking break on & let the system perform & spray soapy water around… - I got nobody to help me tho. & that seems to risky to do alone :joy: Haha

What is broken that you step on ? Oh wait, you meant brake .
This sounds like a case for a shop to do an actual diagnostic so you don’t just end up throwing parts at the vehicle. Many shops will waive the fee if they get to do the work .

Its been to 3 shops & they all say nothing is wrong with it…
It my evap system- what recirculate vapors…

During deceleration I have problems…

I have been to 3 places & they all steal parts from my rare car…

Have found cheap junk swapped for my oem parts…

& how could I proof they stole it…

So why take it to a place for more issues in the long run.?

Seems stupid…

My car was rebuilt from the ground up by a shop that is no longer in business…

Ard tuning

All the parts on my car have been disconnected since 2012 & are nearly impossible to find OEM parts for…

I found an egr valve oem for 100 bucks -

I was quoted 1400 for replacement

*I laughed…

I have maintained everything since the build… there is only 23k miles on the build…

I have had coolant system parts stolen

Egr stolen recently

Vacuum lines stolen

Spark plugs broken

Fuel rail replaced

Fuel injectors swapped for junk yard b.s.

Throttle body stolen

Snorkel swapped with junk cracked bs

Intercooler- I got one for 800 bucks - they damage it with the lift some how :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:.

Radiator cracked- had to replace the entire system-*Again

Heater core- stolen

Gas cap replaced.

I could go on there is more.

But how do I prove that they stole my parts?

That is all I hear…

They always say prove it…

So I do the labor because I sure as :poop:. Am not getting ripped off again…

The dealership only does scanner bs… if there is no code they are dumbfounded & don’t know what to look for…

If I had a lift I’d have it done in a day or 2 no problem…

I need my evap system rebuilt and I don’t trust a Volvo shop…

Nobody will work on a Volvo around here. I called many places they all say *we don’t work on those classic volvos…

95 Volvo 850 T5 wagon

So if nobody to help me ,

I help me

The problem you’re having can be attributed to a dirty/defective Idle Air Control valve.
