This car runs smooth up to about 3500 RPM, the it starts cutting out at a constant, loping pace. I replaced the fuel filter but no change. Any ideas?

Today I will check the throttle position sensor and plug wires for resistance.
Possibly a restricted exhaust system, failing/clogged fuel injector(s), crank or cam position sensor, weak/broken valve spring(s), check fuel volume and for proper vacuum at all rpm ranges. Just a few ideas in case the TPS is ok.
