1994 Ford Ranger - Misses

You give the guitar a TUNE UP by installing new strings

You TUNE the guitar by turning the keys

A TUNE UP is REPLACING warn parts

A TUNE is making ADJUSTMENTS to those parts

It has been at least 25 years since I have had a repair order that read ā€œTune-upā€. Spark plugs and sometimes ignition wires are replace on schedule, a 30,000 mile service would include spark plugs if they are the standard plug. For vehicles with platinum or iridium plugs replacement might be included with the 60,000 or 120,000 service.

Call it a tune-up if you wish.

Hey @Nevada_545 In the case of those Platinum and or Iridium plugs… This is where the fun begins sometimes. What pray tell do you imagine might happen to a Steel Spark Plug screwed into an Aluminum head…DRY… after 80-100K?

I’ve seen grown men crying behind the dealership on that day where someone decided it was time for those plugs to come out of that head…or gasp… those heads, plural.

Although my condolences were sincere, the ā€œI told you soā€ look just wouldn’t leave my eyes and so the crying continued… sometimes with a gentle rocking back n forth as well.

Sad times man… Sad times
