After on dash temperture gauge shows normal operating temperature and vehicle is driven
for 4 to 5 miles the coolant overflows from
the overflow tank. What is this a symptom of?
If the coolant is boiling over, it is most likely a bad radiator cap.
Hopefully the trouble is just a bad pressure cap but it may also indicate there is a headgasket problem and exhaust gases are getting into the coolant. Having a block check test done will verify that.
