1993 Mazda 626, 126K miles Car Won't Stay Turned On; dies when stopped (ie, stop sign)

Car will not hold an idle; dies. Have recently replaced the distributor, water pump, timing belt and valve cover gasket. 1993 Mazda 626, 126K miles

The next time you come to a stop, with your left foot firmly on the brake, slightly step on the accelerator pedal. If doing this prevents the engine from stalling, there’s a problem with the idle air control circuit. This could be caused from a dirty throttle body/idle air control valve, or a defective idle air control valve.
