ok I had my car checked out here at work with the problem of not going into overdrive…It seems the trouble is inside…Now my question is can i drive it aS IS SAFELY
If it is an automatic transmission, it should be safe. There may be a problem with an electrical solenoid activated by the ECM that is preventing OD from engaging. Even if the OD clutch pak is shot, there should be no danger.
If it is a manual, and OD gear is gone, there may be pieces of the broken gear in the bottom of the transmission casing. Hopefully, there is a magnet to keep the metal shards from getting into the other gears. This is potentially very dangerous.
