i got a 1992 bonneville that wont start. it has a car alarm on it. the people i got it from said that it will start every now and then. my question is could it be the alarm and is there away to test it to see if that is the problem or could it be as easy as a starter or battery.

Since there are many different possibilities for the alarm, OEM or after market, I would recommend finding a good mechanic to remove the alarm if it is not OEM or to check it carefully if it is OEM. There are a a lot of problems with the after market alarms and a fair amount with the OEM.
You actually bought a car that the owner’s said would “start every now and then” ???
