1990 Ford Ranger - Shuts off, but acts like it is on

Truck shuts off while driving or in neutral. Weirdly though, all my gauges read like it’s still running, and my power steering is still function. When tested flashes code 67, but AC was off during test and I didn’t think neutral safety switches existed on manual transmissions. Engine doesn’t run rough before truck shuts off. Not overheating, and can happen multiple times or just once in a day

I have owned several Ford Rangers with this exact problem. Just bypass the inertia switch behind the glove compartment. You will find it right under the top of the carpet. The problem is as common as dirt in these trucks.

Don’t replace the switch…just bypass it with a jumper wire or have your mechanic do it.
