1989 Toyota Camry exhaust pipe noise

I have a 1989 Toyota Camry it has 180K miles on it, its due for a smog check up in few months time. For the last few days I’m hearing a mild noise from below the driver seat from the exhaust pipe. Is it the catalytic converter or some thing else. Can it pass with this noise or how much does it cost for the replacement?

It depends on what’s causing the noise. If the exhaust is leaking you will need to repair it. If the noise is a vibration from a loose heat shield, it can be tightened and the noise will stop.

You or someone else will have to locate the source of the noise.
