1989 Isuzu Trooper

I have a 1989 Isuzu Trooper Four cyl fuel injected. The oxygen sensor light is on and also im haveing major performance issue. It idles really bad and starts off sluggish. Takes a min to get up to speed. Was wondering if the sensor would cause this problem. I bought it on the cheap and i know i will put some money into it just was trying to get an idea of what it could be. The Sensor, the fuel injectors, or the engine itself. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Can you narrow it down as to which o2 sensor it is?

You should have one in front of the cat converter and one behind it.

The pre-cat sensor senses an engine problem (exhaust gases, emissions, etc) and the post-cat sensor lets you know the efficiency of the cat converter.

I should have added (seeing as how we STILL can’t edit our own posts) that you may be a able to have a code read.
