1968/72 Pontiac Firebird belched fire and died

I’d rebuilt that carb successfully before using just a spray can of carb cleaning fluid and blowing the fluid through the passages. This last time that method wasn’t sufficient. I had to soak the carb parts overnight in a bucket of carb cleaner and then blow the passages out w/compressed air to resolve all the problems. One caution: Be sure to wear eye protection when spraying anything into the carb, b/c there’s a lot of blind passages and u-turns that will direct the spray right back at your face. I wore a full face shield for that part, and it’s a good thing I did.
