Hey everyone, long time no see! Hope everyone has been well and healthy!
So my alternator is dying on my 09 Camry (4 cyl 2AZFE engine…yeah i know, i took a gamble that’s actually paid off once i replaced the valve cover gasket this past spring). Battery light came on Sunday on the way to get my kids but went off again when i turned onto my alleyway. Multi showed voltage in the mid 12s. Had my wife fire it up, briefly dropped to the 10s, but only rebounded to the mid 12s instead of 14.
Took a chance driving it into work Monday (work 4.1 miles away, a nice 10 minute commute) and the battery light would come on and off intermittently, but no issues. Yesterday, though, the light stayed on the entire drive in and then other lights started to pop (ABS, then airbags, lost interior lights, speedometer died as i pulled in). Fortunately, most of our mowers at work use 12 volt batteries, so we have a good trickle charger, so i charged it back up for 4 hours and it got home with no battery light (just checked it now, 12.69 Volts)
I’ve been in cars where the alternators gone bad, and it felt textbook to me. So my question is, does anyone have a copy of the diagram showing the routing for the serp belt? There is no diagram under the hood unfortunately nor in my owners manual. I did take pictures, but it’s moderately buried and hard to see.
Thank you!
