Our 2004 Impala has about 41000 miles. Last night when I started it, I noticed the fuel gauge was pointing straight down. The tank should be about 3/4 full so I know this isn’t correct! It should point nearly straight up. I am guessing the sending unit or could it be the gauge itself?
I would most certainly bet on the sender,but, is it really ,really cold where you are? the cold makes systems vulnerable. We are getting posts from people who are having problems simply because of the incredible cold in the Mid west and east (it was almost 70 here in Tucson) gotta go, got the grill on.
I am in the Denver Colorado area. The temps have been pretty normal … 40 for high and 20s for lows.
