Done! Old ATF looked clean and redish.
Transmission runs perfectly!
Several stat bloodeliveries and an emergentransport where the hospital asked to push it.
Even then I still try to be gentle on thengine.
Now doing my OCD oil change withe motor oil draining all night.
Everything cleaned with toilet paper. New oil filter oiled and installed.
3 quarts of Mobil1 Full Synthetic 0W-20 Hybrid oil measured into two 5-qt containers to quickly fill if an early morning emergency. (Recently was called at 0420 during an OCD change.) Luckily remembered to screw the pre lubricated oil plug in before adding the oil.
So you didnât use Toyota brand fluid. Hmmm
Like lubricating the plug is even a thing. It comes out lubricated.

After cleaned with toilet paper, used oil on the plugâs flat surface so it slides on the gasket.
From OCD straight to utterly ridiculous.

Letting oil drain over night from a vehicle is not just different . It is unnessary and could cause engine damage . Just another goofy idea from this attention seeking fool.
One can only hope that someone does not think RG is a valid source of information.

No morengine damage than parked the same period without running.
While I am sleeping a little more dirty oil drips out beforefilling withew oil.
(Years ago saw the Letsuck technician puthe oil plug back in before the dirty oil was finishedraining.
They are in a hurry.)
The horizontal oil filter cannot be filled with oil before screwing on.
Have filled thext filter so thathe oil soaks through between paper and can.
These filters are too small.

1 1/2 quarts poured into in each container? The engine oil capacity is 4.8 quarts.
UH-OH. I put in what Lexus dealer said - 6 qts. engine oil. (3 quarts in each 5-quart bottle makes it easier to pour in without spilling.)
(Manual 5.6 qts I recall?)
Glad thathis transmission fluid can be moreasily changed compared to the previous RX350 transmissions.
Drain old, inject new until it begins to overflow the filler opening.
$19.25/quart.
Did not realize it contains gold powder.
The person behind the desk bills 6 quarts for every oil change, but this isnât the actual engine oil capacity. The new RX has 3 different engines.
That is for the turbocharged engine, RX500h. Add 4.5 quarts, then check the dipstick.

Are you saying you didnât check the oil level after you added it? Now you understand our concerns.
Not checked until off the ramps and level.
An inch above the top dot on the dipstick!!
I thoroughly cleaned the oil plug and arearound it andrained a QUART into an empty 5-quart container.
Shall use the drained oil through a paper towel next OCD change.
Use a Paint Strainer not a paper towelâŠ

Would also requireffort and thought. Do not wanto hurt myself.
Paper towel can break down and contaminate the oil⊠I for one donât want contaminates going through my engine bearings, piston rings etc, that is one reason for changing it to begin with⊠But that might just be me⊠Kinda pointless to do a OCD oil change just to start off with contaminated oilâŠ
