I remember, I must have been about 5 yrs old, my father introduced me to the mechanical arts....
I was his ignition system tester.
A couple yrs later I was promoted to fire blanket when the pea can full of priming gasoline ignited off the flaming backfire from the carburetor. The contents of said pea can suddenly found their way onto the shirt of my 250 lb father, who immediately snatched my ass up, and used my little body to smother the flames.

At 8 yrs old, my after school task was to have the transmission out of the Mustang by the time my father got home - a 2 hr time span. My father was a retired Marine, so you may safely deduce that he was not someone to be taken lightly.
He was an F-4 mechanic on an aircraft carrier, and taught me everything from repairing a screwdriver, how to weld with a vehicle, jumper cables, and a rod out of a 9 volt battery, to how to make a jet engine from a turbocharger and other misc parts.

Ive laid hands on everything from pistonless engines to Peterbilts.

I guess you could say that Ive been doing this stuff all my life.
FYI I am now in my 40s.
