my 2009 Toyota Corolla LE 62K makes a weird clashing noise in the split second after turning the ignition but before engine starts. The car will start and run fine. It is not a ticking or knocking noise associated with engine being bad. It is not the squealing noise from serpentine belt. It sounds more clashing as if something frozen & immediately unfrozen. This happens ONLY if it is very cold (below zero) AND if the car has been sitting out 8 hours+. I keep wondering if it is related to the oil change fiasco at the Toyota dealer a couple years ago. They forgot to put oil back in and I started the car and ran 30 sec. They checked it out right afterward and again 3 months later doing a compression test (Cyl#1 178 pis, Cyl#2 175 psi, Cyl 3 180 psi and Cyl 4 178 psi and that was within normal specs 145psi to 190 psi. removed val cover and inspected cam caps scoped cylinder walls found all ok and engine sounds good. Any idea what noise is?
