Just read today's column about coasting on ice...I think the guys missed the mark. Seems to me if the fellow coasts across the patch of ice there is much less chance of the car beginning a skid..in that the wheels would be more likely to keep rolling. If the car is in gear, especially low gear, there would be greater friction resistance between the wheels and the ice , thus inducing a skid.
