# Wipers won't turn off

My wipers won’t turn off. They will run on regular spped and hi speed, but the delay will not work nor will they shut off. The dealership checked relays and fuses and said the problem is the “smart junction box” and they want $588 to repair! Any other ideas?

My other idea is to stop going to dealers. There’s a good chance that to may just need a new switch. Just find a local, independent mechanic and ask them to look at it. Even if the dealer is right about whatever they said you still won’t have to spend as much at a regular shop.

Depending on the year of this mystery Taurus, it’s either going to be the wiper motor assembly or the FEM (the $600 box you refer to).
