Will the old car make it there and back?

I agree with GeorgeSanJose. I get e-mail solicitations from car rental companies all the time, and $125 a week with unlimited mileage is fairly common. For less than $20 a day plus gas you can stop worrying and enjoy your trip. $20 isn’t even lunch money anymore, so go for it. Rocketman

If you rent a car, make sure it’s allowed outside the country.

@lioncar Good point; OP may have to pay extra insurance for the Canadian part of the trip.

Sounds like a scenic trip. Albany to NS.

Whichever car you take, make sure your insurance policy is valid in Canada. Most are since millions cross the border by car every year.

yeah, sounds like a great trip. take what ever option causes you the least worry, and enjoy the ride

For those cheap weekly rental rates, make sure you’re allowed out of the state, much less the country. Friend got one of those, drove 2000+ miles, got an out of state ticket, and ended up having to pay $0.50/mile!
