What year is your Jeep?

Could be a bad idle air control (IAC) valve. Of course, it could be other things as well.

Does it chug to a stop; or, does the truck stop, and the engine cut off suddenly?

If it has an automatic transmission, when you approach a stop, put the transmission shifter into NEUTRAL. If it, then, doesn’t stall, the automatic transmission lock up torque converter control is suspect.
If it’s a manual transmission, suspect the idle air control valve (iac), or, the throttle position sensor (tps).
Start with a spray cleaner on the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. Use a carb and throttle body cleaner on the iac and the throttle plate and bore. This can be done by only removing the large, black, plastic intake tube.
