I have a 2009 Subaru Outback (I’ve owned 5 since 1999) and have never had a whistling problem before. The outback whistles as it picks up speed & varies in intensity & volume depending I think on wind velocity. It sounds like a simple leaf stuck in a vent problem, but I can’t find anything. I’ve stuck my ear to each inside vent & can’t pinpoint the whistle–whewwww. It sounds like it’s emanating from the dashboard & gets so loud sometimes even the Red Hot Chili Peppers turned up full blast can’t drown it out! Is it time to just fork over the dough to my mechanic so they can take it apart, or do I have a haunted car?

You can use your vehicle warranty to locate noises.

You shouldn’t have to fork over anything. The car is under warranty. Let the Subaru dealer find the noise.

```
 That is why cars come with warranties. Let the guys and gals at the dealer figure it out.
Why would someone with a brand new car that comes with a 3 year/36k Bumper to Bumper Warranty even consider spending his own money to fix a defect in the car?
The solution is spelled w-a-r-r-a-n-t-y.
