Which car to take on winter trips?

Pilot…More ground clearance, more driver control (no ESC), more power, and a tougher chassis. Plus, it’s built for this type of driving!

One thing sitting up higher is that it gives one a sense of being slower than one really is.
I remember taking out an F-150 for a test drive when I was looking for a new vehicle, and I came up on a set of railroad tracks that I’ve crossed dozens of times before. In my civic I would have known to slow down for it, but I wasn’t really paying attention to my speed and went over the tracks with more speed than I should have; I’m almost certain I caught a little air when I did.
My perception of the road was altered a bit because I was sitting so high up, but it could have easily been that I just wasn’t used to sitting up so high off the ground.

Take the one you are most comfortable in. If you have to worry about the extra ground clearance with the pilot, you are not going anywhere fast and should probably hole up until the storm passes.
