I have a 1962 ranchero and I need a starter for it. Who accually makes the right one? I’ve been to 4 different auto parts stores and no one can get me the right one! Its either bigger in size than what I need or its completly different than my application. As far as I know I have the original 3-speed transmission.

Have you tried an internet search for classic era Ford forums?

This is a Falcon pickup, essentially. Parts are still available. RockAuto lists 4 different starters for this vehicle, assuming you have the original 6 cylinder engine in it.

Have you tried getting your current starter rebuilt?
