My ex was exactly the same. She would drive for 2 or 3 days with the fuel warning light on! Since self service fueling is not allowed here it was not an aversion to that. If I was running a few errands on the weekend and she suggested I use her car I could count on my first stop being a gas station. I also tend to run off the top half of my tank.
