Losing a son is one of the things one never recovers from. A friend of the family lost one to a gun accident and it broke the family apart. Must be 50 years now and it still affects the mother when I see her from time to time.
We don’t change when we get old. We just worry more.

I had a “grandfather-in-law” about whom the story was told…“How cheap was CK?” So cheap he would not buy anti-freeze for his old T Ford, and on cold Connecticut nights he kept an oil heater in barn to keep the car warm. Ended up burning down barn, and the house.
