I find parts for old ricers far more readily available than I do for old Volvos. Toyota, Honda, and even Nissan have sold countless millions of Camrys, Corollas, pickups, Civics, Accords, Sentras, and Maximas over the past 4 decades, far, far more of each than Volvo ever sold. Consequently, the market for aftermarket parts is far, far larger for all of these cars than it is for any Volvos. And so is the supply. Many of these models have even been designed and manufactured in high volumes in the U.S. for many years now.
I agree with those that imply that buying an old Volvo to try to save money is reverse logic.
