My fiancee drives a 2001 Toyota Corolla. In order to get out of our apartment complex you must make a right turn onto a blind hill in which people like to speed down.

A few months ago, it started stalling whenever she tried making right hand turns and has done it about 10 or so times.

She has taken it to two mechanics. The first said that it was because Wal-Mart had failed to refill her oil when she got the oil changed. The second said that the power steering was jammed, but she isn’t sure that he did anything to fix it because it has stalled a couple of times since.

She was almost in one accident because of this problem and I’m afraid that it is only a matter of time before she is in a more serious accident. Any suggestions?

Does it ever do this while standing still and turning the steering wheel from lock to lock?

In the meantime you need to find mechanic #3.

Not that I am aware of. She has only complained of it when driving after the car has been sitting for a while, usually overnight. At first she thought it might have been a fuel line, that maybe the fuel wasn’t getting to the engine when she turned.

Maybe when turning, something that’s not properly anchored is shifting, like a loose electrical connector.

Thanks…I’ll try taking it to mechanic 3 and see if that might be the case.
