# Truck will crank but not start

Truck will crank and not start, I tested the spark plugs and got no spark, I’m thinking maybe the coil or the coil module, help me out

Is this the HEI distributor? If it is then the coil could be bad but there’s a more likely suspect. A lot of times the ignition control module is replaced without the silicone heat sink applied underneath. They don’t last long this way. I would try the ignition control module first and make sure the silcone heatsink is applied liberally.

Whenever you have an ignition problem the first thing to verify is make sure that power is getting to the ignition system.
