# Truck feels sluggish and feels like it's over revving before it shifts. But it's not a tranny issue, throttle body? Or mass airflow sensor?

Acceleration from 1-2 is sluggish and feels like a slip into 2nd but seems like it’s struggling had check engine light on and throttle body came up. Cleaned it and helped a little but still does it. Maybe TB is faulty?

What year?

What engine?

I know it’s a Chevy 1500, but WHAT Chevy 1500 . . . ?

Chevy 1500 Express?

Chevy 1500 Silverado?

And what exact code . . . there are MANY codes related to the throttle body, which one?

It’s a 2003 Silverado 1500. 5.3 vortec 4x4 and the codes are p2135 and p1515 and p0106

P2135 is a bad throttle position switch. Could cause a reduced throttle condition. Replace that first. The p1515 relates to the fist and MAY go away when you replace the TPS. Same for the p0106, the MAP sensor code.

Before you replace anything, there are 2 ground connections to the frame under the driver’s side floor on the outside of the frame. Clean both grounds and re-connect. You can also put them under the same screw to save a little work and force a good connection. Clear the codes and see what come back.

The DTC P2135 points to a problem with the accelerator pedal position sensor.

This can really mess the computer up if it’s faulty.

This was straight from [acdelcotechconnect.com](http://acdelcotechconnect.com) . . . specifically the mode 6 data section

All the malfunction criteria, enable conditions, etc. are to be found there

With a decent multimeter and some common sense, I think it could be determined fairly quickly if the electronic throttle body is working properly, or not. Of course, it might be a good idea to check the 5V references and grounds, also, but that should be part of the diagnosis, anyways
