I’m not sure if I am actually experiencing transmission problems or what. I was told that he horrible noise that sounds like the bottom of my car will fall out is the transmission. It will cost approximately $1,100 to repair. Then I read that there may not be any sound associated with transmission problems. Could anyone offer helpful suggestions on what I should do next? Thank you. ---

More info would help. Vehicle - Make, model, years, miles. Under what conditions does the noise occur? Accelerating, coasting, braking, turning, etc. Description of noise. Clunk, rattle, buzz, etc. What are they going to repair for $1100? Ed B. ---

It is true that some transmission problems do not announce themselves with horrible noises. It is also true that other transmission problems do. Are there any symptoms other than the noise?
