# Transmission Oil Cooler Flush

Doing my first transmission rebuild and I hear a lot about the trans oil cooler

Is the can flush worth it? Am I forced to shell out for a new part to avoid ruining the new trans with contamination?

Yes, it will flush your cooler **and** cooler lines, flush until it comes out clean, then with compressed air blow out all the flush… I always buy my flush from WIT (What ever it takes) transmission parts place but I think it is something like this:

Whenever a transmission is replaced. the lines and cooler are flushed to remove any possible contaminates so the new transmission isn’t damaged.
