After repairing a transfer case in a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport trac, what kind of preventative maintenance should I focus on to prevent such a problem again? Should I expect problems with my transmission now?

What did you have to repair in the transfer case?

I don’t see why there should be tranny problems?

I’m not familiar with FORDs but is this vehicle a 4wd or awd?

The most common thing that will kill a transfer case is running the 4wd on dry pavement, so make sure you’re not doing that.
