I have a power wheel chair and lift with a total weigh of 500 lbs. The lift uses the traler hitch for transporting. Would a 2009 Toyota Highlander be suitable for lift and chair. I have been useing a 1999 Isuzu Rodio for a few years need new car.

I don’t think the standard class III hitch that the Highlander is equipped with can handle the 500 lbs. You’d need to have a sturdier hitch installed which is an expense but not a big problem. Otherwise you have to see how easy it is for you to get into and out the Highlander. It should be a strong as the Rodeo.
