I responded to the gas pedal/floor mat recall notice I got in the mail, showed them that there was no issue since the floor mat was inches away from the mat. They said it was a gov’t requirement that they shave a bit off the pedal and install a shim.

The end result was that they cut off the bottom corners of the pedal so it is now an irregular hexagon. I can see the lower mechanism. I went back and complained that my foot now slips off the pedal and I want a full sized gas pedal installed. They put me off, said they’d try to get one, etc… Do I pursue this with Toyota or just buy an after market pedal and install it?
