I think it was a 1997 or newer, possibly a 1999 or 2003.

I remember reading a review or hearing Tom & Ray discussing the Miata many years ago. They pronounced it the perfect car EXCEPT FOR the pop up head lights. As I recall, they said they would in fact buy one except for the head light. Anyway, the model year 1999 Miata came out without the pop up head lights. So, I’m betting it is a 1999 or newer.
