Me neither…. But tires I was ordering were not the tires my tire shop would likely keep in stock. My last set was ordered online from Sam’s Club. They took a week to arrive and I had them mounted and balanced at Sam’s. I had an alignment done (the Audi, the complicated car!) at my regular mechanic when it was in for another service.
And most people don’t have issues, but I have seen tires come in already damaged that had to be sent back, we delt with at least 4 different online tire places and had set fees for each, but if the tire comes in damaged, then the customer just has to wait for a replacement… Remember you have bought several sets of tires, I have delt with hundreds+ of online tires… It was nothing to have 5-6 sets of online tires waiting to be installed at any given time…
I have also seen our tires come in damaged, stuff happens, but I also had access to a replacement either on the self, another shop or one of the local warehouses most of the time to handle the issue…
Don’t tell me… $ 6 9 each?

I might have found the tires I wanted at a local tire store, but it would have been a special order. If they were in stock, it might have been a tire store that I would not want to deal with. I bought our last set of tires at COSTCO and we did have to wait for delivery, but unlike Tire Rack, there was a big discount. As for @davesmopar’s comment about damage, any tires that are ordered by me or a tire store could be damaged. I’d have to wait a few extra days wherever I bought the tires.
I may have misjudged. Don’t know if it’s $54 tires or $54 just to install. Don’t know what kind of tires? At any rate folks that pinch Pennie rarely come out ahead in the long run.
Mount and balance is free at Costco with tire purchase.
Discount tire charges $100 for mount and balance, they offer “mobile service” for an additional fee.
$216 might be a reasonable charge for mobile installation but I would rather have the tires installed at a tire shop. It shouldn’t be difficult to load 4 tires into the back of an SUV.
Last time we needed an alignment we went to the alignment shop our mechanics trusted, at the time ours didn’t have the equipment. They’d have offered an alignment if we needed it. Last set of tires hit 10yrs old with Maybe 70k on 80,000mi tires. Which is why service and the quality of tires matters more than the cheapest cost.
No, I typed the letter “X” twice, and just left it since it was not real price, could have typed ??, or YY, or ZZ, or even 69…
Evidently you can type X and XXXX but the two in between are a no go…
But no, I was simply just typing $X price… lol
I get points on CC if I buy online. OR buy at store. For all purchases. What’s in ur wallet?
These are some sick - - - people. Don’t know what they expect to accomplish but when they black out the name of one of the great family shows, the silliness says it all. You don’t stop thinking by stopping speech.
Are you talking about the aquatic mammal show? My favorite episodes were car related. When Wally and Eddie chained the reared of Lumpy’s car to a tree. The time Wally got his car, first one he looked at was a 49-50 GM fastback, probably a Chevy but I don’t remember. He ended up with a 53/54 Belair convertible.
I dunno. I think I just mentioned a you tube about the cars of leave it to b e a v e r and it got censored. I vaguely chasing the rear axle but thought it was in American pie or whatever th3 name of th3 movie was.
Sorry, American graffiti.
Yes, American Graffiti too, I think Richard Dreyfuss chained a police car as part of getting into the Pharaohs. Where Eddie and Wally screwed up, they used Ward Cleaver’s chain, Ward had his name engraved on it.
