# Tinting Windows in California - legal?

Is it legal to tint car glasses including the front driver and passenger side?  
  
  
  
 If you do, will you still have the right visibility?  
  
  
  
 Is there a specific material good for tinting?

Questions on legality are best directed to either the DMV or to the state police.  
Well-meaning people on this site can provide incorrect information that they honestly believe to be correct, and this could result in a summons for you.
