I’d like to fine tune the timing on my '64 ford galaxie but noticed there are missing marks. according to the shop manual there should be a pointer with 3-4 marks, one of them being TDC. all I have on mine is a pointer, with no marks. how do I set the timing? I have a gun that I some how came across and now own. also, I’d like to fine tune my carburator. all I know is that it’s a four barrel edelbrock.

Clean the harmonic balancer off. Odds are the balancer is marked and those marks are covered over by paint and grunge.
