I have a 2003 Honda Pilot with just over 100,000 miles on it. My dealer recommends that I replace the timing belt at 105,000 miles. Is this necessary then or should I “push on”?

Basically if you don’t replace it will fail sometime and causes a few thousand dollars of damage to your motor + cause a break down(engine will not run) likely at the most inconvenient time.

yes replace it if you plan on keeping this car. timing belts can break without warning and completely ruin your engine.

Should you replace it? Not if you like to gamble with bad odds.

Since the cost of the timing belt replacement is only a fraction of the cost of rebuilding your engine if the belt should break, the answer seems obvious to me, but I will let you decide for yourself whether this risk is worthwhile.
