As a result of the international sanctions and Renault’s departure following the rest of the Majors, Russia"s auto production declined by 97% leaving only the “Venerable Lada”, which managed to score an amazing 18,000 sales in a month!

> AvtoVAZ's Lada sales rose 75 percent in August as a government program to subsidize new vehicles supports demand, which collapsed after Russia's invation of Ukraine.

Now while gas at $5 - $10 a gallon will make people angry and import parts restictions will require ingenuity, limiting people’s new car choices to Lada’s (Russia’s Yugo) will almost certainly result in riots in the streets and/or roadblocks from broken down Lada’s . 😄
