Today it's called trafficking. I have never heard the Mann act was repealed.
It was over 30 years ago…so memory is flaky.
In either case…they NEVER should have been arrested.
Wikipedia now says the Mann act was modified and it only applies to crossing the state lines for any “illegal” (ahem) act. It now includes males and adult males. But, i think those changes were made in 1986.
Note that illegal acts will include Age of consent issues if a crime occurs. But, it no longer applies to consenting adults where no other crime is involved.
The abductor of Elizabeth Smart is in Federal prison for life on charges which include a Mann act charge. His involved illegal crime, I would say, clearly includes kidnapping, as a guess.
